Luke 6:46
46. And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
Jesus shows that God’s law remains in force and relevant today when he declares in Matthew 5:18-19, that nothing from the law will pass till heaven and earth pass, and that we are to do and teach his commandments to others.
Paul shows that God’s law applies to you today when he declares in Acts 26:20 that his whole ministry was showing that you should repent and turn to God, and prove your repentance by doing that which is lawful and right.
Leviticus 5:17 states that when you unknowingly sin by committing anything that is forbidden to be done by the commandments of the LORD, you are guilty and shall bear your iniquity.
In Ezekiel 18:20-28 and 33:13-19, God explains in detail that your righteousness will not save you in the day you sin, as the soul that sins shall die; however, when you consider and turn away from your sin, and do that which is lawful and right, you save your soul and live.
It is your choice to save your soul by doing that which is lawful and right, and God provides instruction in:
- Ezekiel 33:15: restore that which you’ve stolen, and
- Leviticus 6:2-5: restore in full that which was delivered you to keep safe; add 20% thereof and give it unto him to whom it belongs, and when you’re unable to restore the property, then
- Proverbs 6:30-31: restore sevenfold of that which you’ve stolen, even when that requires you to sell your own possessions to do so.
Jesus states in John 14:15 that if you love him, you’ll keep his commandments; which in turn supports God’s exhortation in Proverbs 7:2 to keep his commandments, and live.
Jesus warns in Matthew 7:21-23 that despite appearances to the contrary, only those that do God’s will shall enter into the kingdom of heaven. And Paul declares in Romans 14:10-12 that when you stand before Christ’s judgment seat you must give account of yourself to God, and in 2 Corinthians 5:10 you will receive for the things you’ve done.
Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we pray you be reconciled to God and do that which is lawful and right:
Repent toward your agreement with each guest and fulfil your obligations to close each of their trusts:
- transfer title to the Bride and Groom, that is the cards; and
- hand over the wrapped and packaged gifts to the Bride and Groom.
You are duty-bound to give effect to the guests’ intent, as per [22.15] Equity and Trusts in Australia, and Leviticus 6:2-5.
As you have not fulfilled the guests’ intent, it appears you are unable to ascertain that the gifts are for the Bride and Groom, thus you are required to return each gift to the owner of the property, that is each guest, or their estate, as per [17.95] Equity and Trusts in Australia.
Repent toward your agreement with the Bride and Groom and fulfil your obligation to close their trust:
- transfer title to the Bride and Groom, that is the cards, and
- hand over the wrapped and packaged gifts to the Bride and Groom.
Your duty is to convey the property to the Bride and Groom as directed, thus when you are unable to transfer title and hand over the wrapped and packaged gifts to them, then restore to the Bride and Groom sevenfold of each gift, as per [21.45] Equity and Trusts in Australia, and Proverbs 6:30-31.
Do you really believe that?
Matthew 5:18-19
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Acts 26:20
20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.
Leviticus 5:17
17 And if a soul sin, and commit any of these things which are forbidden to be done by the commandments of the LORD; though he wist it not, yet is he guilty, and shall bear his iniquity.
Ezekiel 18:20-28
20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
21 But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
22 All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live.
23 Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: [and] not that he should return from his ways, and live?
24 But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, [and] doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked [man] doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.
25 Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal?
26 When a righteous [man] turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die.
27 Again, when the wicked [man] turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive.
28 Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
Ezekiel 33:13-19
13 When I shall say to the righteous, [that] he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.
14 Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;
15 [If] the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.
16 None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.
17 Yet the children of thy people say, The way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal.
18 When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby.
19 But if the wicked turn from his wickedness, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby.
Leviticus 6:2-5
2 If a soul sin, and commit a trespass against the LORD, and lie unto his neighbour in that which was delivered him to keep, or in fellowship, or in a thing taken away by violence, or hath deceived his neighbour;
3 Or have found that which was lost, and lieth concerning it, and sweareth falsely; in any of all these that a man doeth, sinning therein:
4 Then it shall be, because he hath sinned, and is guilty, that he shall restore that which he took violently away, or the thing which he hath deceitfully gotten, or that which was delivered him to keep, or the lost thing which he found,
5 Or all that about which he hath sworn falsely; he shall even restore it in the principal, and shall add the fifth part more thereto, [and] give it unto him to whom it appertaineth, in the day of his trespass offering.
Proverbs 6:30-31
30 [Men] do not despise a thief, if he steal to satisfy his soul when he is hungry;
31 But [if] he be found, he shall restore sevenfold; he shall give all the substance of his house.
John 14:15
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
Proverbs 7:2
2 Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.
Matthew 7:21-23
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Romans 14:10-12
10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
11 For it is written, [As] I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
2 Corinthians 5:10
10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
The honourable response is to fulfil the intents and purposes of the guests. That is, the Bride and Groom read their cards, unwrap and open their gifts. It is unconscionable to withhold the Bride and Groom’s wedding gifts.

[22.15] Fundamental duty to obey the terms of the trust
“A trustee’s plainest and overriding duty is to obey the terms of the trust. This is because a trustee is duty-bound to give effect to the settlor’s intention as expressed in the trust instrument, irrespective of how seemingly insignificant its terms may appear. The duty of obedience qualifies virtually every other duty of a trustee.”
[17.95] CERTAINTY OF OBJECT, “Beneficiary principle”
“The “beneficiary principle” requires that a trust be in favour of definite beneficiaries, ascertained or capable of ascertainment,…” “A trust that does not fulfil certainty of object fails to take effect, and the intended trustee holds the property in question on resulting trust for the settlor (or the settlor’s estate):….”
[21.45] Bare trustees
“A “bare” trustee holds property in trust for the absolute benefit and at the absolute disposal of beneficiaries of full age and capacity in respect of that property, but has no interest in that property other than by reason of legal title as trustee, and no (further) duty to perform except to convey the property on demand to the beneficiaries or as directed by them.45”
